Amélie

Amélie 2001 French I've been posting a lot of deep, depressing movies thanks to the Oscars and especially Manchester by the Sea, so here's a movie that just makes the viewer feel good. This may be the first foreign film I watched as well. A shy waitress in Paris, Amélie (Audrey Tautou) is a quirky, imaginative, dreamer who takes pleasure in the little things in life. We follow her trying to make the people around her happy in her own way, which involves elaborate plans, while she tries to find love. The cinematography is one of the best ever, there's also lots of interesting shots, cool camera tricks and techniques. While it's number 80 on imdb, I don't think it is talked about enough. I believe it's on Netflix.
