Kings of Summer

Kings of Summer 2013 USA So last week I bashed Jordan Vogt-Roberts directing style in Kong: Skull Island but for this movie he did a good job. Three friends who are sick of their parents, skip town without telling anyone to spend the summer in the woods, trying to living off the land... Not counting fried chicken runs. Nothing can beat Stand By Me in terms of coming of age movies, but this gives it a good shot. An eccentric, sharp wit comedy, kind of Wes Anderson style that throws in family drama and girl problems. Moises Arias (Biaggio) easily steals scenes, as the ultimate over the top quirky kid, but it works. Biaggio sucks at Monopoly but excels in the art of camouflage.
