Life 2017 USA It's no Alien/Aliens but you can't hold that against it, since nothing can compare. Six members of an international space station discover the first signs of life on Mars from a soil sample. The villain named Calvin, named by school children after winning a contest starts out as a single cell organism which soon begins to grow and evolve. The flight crew realizes they will be fighting for life and not letting Calvin reach Earth. The premise has been done before, but throw in amazing cgi and some heart racing intense, suspenseful scenes and it becomes better than most thrillers. The camera work was exquisite; the way the camera moved made you feel they filmed it in zero gravity. I did not like the POV alien shot; it didn't fit with the movie. I also wasn't a fan of "Calvin" when it was fully grown; to me, it was scarier when it was smaller. After staring in Mission Impossible Rogue Nation, Rebecca Ferguson is quickly becoming a star and is fantastic as the quarantine officer. Ryan Reynolds plays Ryan Reynolds, a jokester smart ass.
