Snowpiercer
Snowpiercer 2013 USA Just like my The Thing review, there is a blizzard in NY… well, kind of, weathermen suck. So here's a movie where snow has taken over. In 2031 the earth has become a new ice age. The only people alive are on a train circling the world. Some are old enough to remember life before, some are trainbabies. Becoming sick of children being taken away with no explanation and arms being frozen off if you act out and only eating black protein blocks; The lower class members who are on the tail end of the train are lead by Curtis (Chris Evans) as they revolt and try to fight their way to the privileged front. Somewhat like a video game, as the back of the train fight their way through each compartment they face different obstacles and see things they didn't think still existed. There is some great close quarters combat action scenes; but it's not just a dystopian action film with talk of class systems and political satire. Unrecognizable as the evil yet funny dictator, Tilda Swinton steals every scene she is in as she does in every movie.
