The Salesman

The Salesman (Forushande) 2016 Iran Winning the Best Foreign Language Film at the Oscars this year, The Salesmen follows a married couples problems after an incident. After moving into a new apartment, Emad (Shahab Hosseini) and Rana (Taraneh Alidoosti) lives change after Rana is attacked by an intruder while home alone. This starts to hinder their relationship as they deal with the aftermath. She no longer feels safe and he feeling powerless tries to find the attacker himself. It also effects the play (Death of a Salesman) which they both star in at a local theater. Listed as a thriller in IMDb, I was disappointed with that labeling; it was more of a psychological drama. I felt that the first two acts were a little slowly paced but it set up a third act that was filled with suspense and made you think what you would do.
