The Thing

The Thing, 1982, USA It's snowing in New York, so I figured I'll do a movie where snow is involved. I watched The Thing for the first time a few months ago and it certainly held up throughout the years. A research team gets stuck on their base in Antarctica, when they find out there is a creature trying to kill them. This "thing" can take the shape of its victims, so the very man standing next to you...could be trying to kill you. This horror/thriller/sci-fi has stood the test of time and will continue to do so. It's a simple premises; trapped with a killer but knowing there is no escaping; you feel isolated and paranoid rooting for MacReady (Kurt Russell) to save the day. The Thing is very entertaining from start to finish and the practical effects still look great, even 30 plus years later.
