White Girl

White Girl 2016 USA First of all, I don't support snorting coke.... Well at least not with a dollar bill. Use a Benjamin. Leah (Morgan Saylor) falls for Blue (Brian Marc), a drug dealer who sells on the corner where Leah lives. After just 5 days of knowing each other, Blue gets busted for possession and Leah starts selling coke so she can afford lawyers who can help bail him out. She may be a rookie at selling, but she's anything but a rookie when it comes to being wild. Making its debut at the Sundance Film Festival in 2016, this was nominated for best drama at said festival. Some scenes dragged on and I lost interest at some points, but first time director Elizabeth Wood (loosely based on her life) was the standout of the movie, having the ability to shoot gritty camera shots that portrayed graphic drug use, sex and partying but with stylish visuals. It reminded me of a better, much darker, 2005 movie "Havoc". Currently on Netflix
